Roberta O’Donnell, B.A.

Program Manager

Roberta was recruited to join the SLG management team due to her varied professional experience in the human service field.

Roberta’s first foray into human services was as a home health aide, where she developed her appreciation for the vulnerabilities of those with limited physical capacities. At this time, she also gained personal insight into the impact that disability can have on a family unit as she advocated and cared for a family member diagnosed with dementia and limited mobility.

Roberta then secured certification as an Emergency Medical Technician while working with a local ambulance company and subsequently secured licensure as a Paramedic serving Bridgeport, CT.

Unfortunately, after a violent incident while conducting her job duties brought an end to her career as a Paramedic, Roberta transitioned into an administrative role at Hartford Hospital before she recommenced her education and earned her bachelor’s degree.

Following graduation, Roberta returned to the human services field and elected to specialize in supporting individuals diagnosed with intellectual and physical disabilities in residential settings. Her service philosophies, educational background, and professional experience led to her rapidly being elevated into supervisory positions where she educated and motivated staff under her supervision before being recruited to join SLG’s management team.
